De’Andrea Lottier identifies as a Fem Black Womanist, Christ loving, fire-spitting African American woman with Afro-Latin & Creole roots. She is a Southern California native. De’Andrea observes open and affirming christian practices. Her pronouns are she,her, hers. She is an avid activist for social justice and human rights issues including racial inequality, employment discrimination, youth & homelessness, and immigration rights. She has recently been exploring healing practices and popular education tools to facilitate inclusive space for healing spiritual trauma and childhood trauma from poverty and homelessness.
She received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and History/Political Science from Warren Wilson College in Western North Carolina. While in undergrad, she co-started a peer mentor program for students of color and international students. It has been running successfully for nearly 5 years. She continues to work with organizations and communities to create more safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces for Black and Brown people to flourish and live more whole and happy lives.
De’Andrea is currently serving as a Program Coordinator for a non-profit in Los Angeles, CA. There she helps people of color develop job readiness skills and maintain employment through education and empowerment courses.
